Abstract

This case study from Maynooth University outlines the development of GenAI Guidelines and Resources for Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (May–December 2024), led by the Centre for Teaching and Learning and Student Skills and Success. The initiative developed high-level, principles-based guidelines for staff and students on the ethical and responsible use of Generative AI, supported by professional learning activities and companion resources. The project adopted a staff–student partnership approach, including student-authored guidelines and the creation of a “GenAI & My Learning Hub,” and aligns with university policies and national and international guidance.
