Abstract

This case study from Trinity College Dublin describes Using GenAI for Teaching, Learning and Assessment (Academic Years 2023/24–2024/25 and ongoing), led by the Centre for Academic Practice. The initiative forms part of Trinity’s Generative AI Action Plan and supports staff in understanding GenAI technologies, identifying associated risks and ethical considerations, and integrating AI responsibly into teaching, learning, assessment, and research. Key activities include the development of open-access resources, professional development programmes (including a national OpenCourse), brown-bag sessions, and a collaborative interinstitutional publication with Irish universities. The initiative aligns with Trinity’s strategic priorities, UNESCO guidance, and National Academic Integrity Network frameworks, with evaluation planned for 2025/26.
