Mitchell, Amy (2024) LEAD Knowledge Base: Supporting on-demand, ‘just-in-time’ support and guidance for digital learning platforms and tools. In: Higher Education Authority Teaching and Learning Conference 2024, Dublin.
This case study from Mary Immaculate College (MIC) describes the development of the LEAD Knowledge Base (2021–present), an open-access, on-demand support resource for digital learning platforms and tools. Led by the Learning Enhancement and Academic Development Centre (LEAD), the Knowledge Base provides multimodal, Universal Design-informed guidance to approximately 5,000 students, 360 academic staff, and 230 professional services staff, with wider access across the HE sector. Developed during Covid-19 to provide 24-hour ‘just-in-time’ digital support, the resource now contains over 260 topic-specific articles and continues to expand in response to user search data and demand.
