In: Higher Education Authority Teaching and Learning Conference 2025, 2025, Dublin.
This case study describes the Technology Assisted Interdisciplinary Learning and Simulation (TAILS) project at University College Dublin, developed by the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Systems and the School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Sports Science. Supported by SATLE funding, TAILS co-designed and implemented a technology-enhanced interdisciplinary simulation across postgraduate programmes in Cardiovascular Nursing, Physiotherapy, and Dietetics. The initiative combined digital preparatory learning (H5P), co-designed simulation scenarios, structured PEARLS debriefing, and validated evaluation tools (SET and ICCAS) to strengthen collaborative competencies and clinical readiness. Pilot results indicate increased student confidence, improved interprofessional understanding, and enhanced preparedness for clinical practice. The project has since been embedded within core curricula and expanded to support sustainable interdisciplinary learning across healthcare programmes.
