Corr, Eddie and Flynn, Aisling (2026) Online student transition programmes at Maynooth University: My Maynooth on Moodle and ‘Second Year’. In: Higher Education Authority Teaching and Learning Conference 2025, 2025, Dublin.
This case study from Maynooth University outlines the development of online student transition programmes, including My Maynooth on Moodle and Second Year & Beyond!. Delivered through Student Skills & Success, the programmes provide asynchronous, modular content on Moodle to support students’ academic, personal, and professional development across key transition points. Co-created with students and university stakeholders, the initiatives combine interactive activities, peer-led digital storytelling, and responsive monthly content releases. Early evaluation shows strong engagement, with over 2,600 students accessing the 2025 release and high levels of reported preparedness and awareness of supports. The programmes demonstrate a scalable, student-centred approach to digital transition support aligned with institutional student success strategies.
