Abstract

This case study from IADT describes The Good Guide to Creative Practice for Sustainable Futures Toolkit, a SATLE-funded OER initiative expanding an earlier student handbook into a teaching and learning toolkit for creative disciplines. Led by Dr Hilary Kenna with NTUTORR student fellows, the project supports sustainability, equality, and ethical technology through three core pillars: People, Planet, and Tech for Good. Piloted with 35 third-year Graphic Design students and lecturers, the toolkit informed experiential design briefs aligned with sustainability themes, generating strong engagement and proposals recognised by IADT’s Climate Committee. The project aims to publish the toolkit under Creative Commons via the HEA National Resource Hub to enable broader adoption and capacity-building across institutions.
