Plunkett, Niamh, Haran, Maureen and Sarsfield, Yvonne (2026) Scaling Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Across Campuses: Harnessing Peer Networks for Inclusive Learning. In: Higher Education Authority Teaching and Learning Conference 2025, 2025.
This case study describes an Atlantic Technological University (ATU) initiative to scale Universal Design for Learning (UDL) across multiple campuses through structured peer networks coordinated by ATU’s UDL Centre of Excellence. The project supports peer-led workshops, cross-campus collaboration, and engagement in Inclusive Programme Reviews to embed UDL at module, programme, faculty, and institutional levels. Impact is evidenced through participant feedback, increased integration of UDL in programme redesign, and engagement of 250–300 staff and students. The initiative provides a sustainable, scalable model for embedding inclusive teaching practices aligned with national and international policy frameworks.
