Bustillo, Marta (2024) Digital Literacy Skills for Students in Accredited Programmes. In: Higher Education Authority Teaching and Learning Conference 2024, Dublin.
This case study from University College Dublin (UCD) describes Digital Literacy Skills for Students in Accredited Programmes (April 2022–December 2024), led by UCD Library and the UCD College of Social Sciences and Law. The initiative developed a GPA-neutral, self-directed, non-credit online module titled Digital Skills for Success in the Workplace, structured around five themes in UCD Library’s Digital Literacy Framework: finding and using digital information; digital identities and practices; creating and communicating information; critical evaluation; and collaboration in digital spaces. Designed through a students-as-partners approach, the module supports students in professionally accredited programmes to develop essential digital literacy skills for workplace readiness. To date, the project has reached 408 students and staff at UCD, with additional engagement beyond the institution, and has aligned with national digital transformation strategies and UCD strategic priorities
