AUDIOVISUAL INTERCULTURAL PORTAL FOR LEARNING IRISH AND SPANISH;

This poster illustrates an ongoing collaborative project between Acadamh na hOllscolaíochta Gaeilge and the Spanish Department at National University of Ireland Galway. The project is an investigation of the potential of new media and ubiquitous web technologies to enhance the student learning experience in languages by building learning communities, shared resources and enhanced multilingual perspectives. Specifically, the project aims to link linguistic and cultural learning in Spanish and Irish. The four basic activities are:development of participants' abilities as problem-solvers, facilitates a gradual lessening of teacher guidance for students and encourages the development of an intentional learning mindset and strategy on the part of the learner. This work is conducted in part fulfilment of the author's Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education at University College Cork.
