Scanlon, Dylan and Lowney, Rob (2026) Decolonising the curriculum and pedagogy: Pedagogical considerations for the Irish context. [Report]
This literature scoping review sought to explore the following two questions: (i) What is the extent, nature, and range of decolonising pedagogical practices in research within higher education between 2015 and 2025?; and (ii) What are the key pedagogical considerations for best practice in decolonising the curriculum? It was funded by the Dublin City University (DCU) Quality Improvement Fund 2025, under the theme of 'Fostering Global Engagement', as part of a wider project of decolonising and diversifying the curriculum, co-ordinated by the DCU Teaching Enhancement Unit. The lead author of this literature scoping review is Dr Dylan Scanlon of Deakin University, Australia.
