Applying Kane’s Validity Framework to Online OSCEs

This paper applies Kane’s validity framework to two online Objective Structured Clinical Examinations in an undergraduate speech and language therapy programme. It describes how assessment claims and supporting evidence were assembled to examine whether interpretations of students’ grades could be defended. The analysis identifies strengths and gaps and offers a structured approach relevant to other healthcare assessments.
